Health Policy Scholars Program Become a Health Policy Scholar OVERVIEW The Health Policy Scholars Program offers Meharry students in the School of Medicine (SOM), School of Dentistry (SOD), and School of Graduate Studies and Research (SOGSR), who have educational and research interests in health policy and social science research, the opportunity to participate in coursework, seminars and research activities leading to the completion of a Certificate in Health Policy to be awarded in conjunction with the student's declared academic program degree. The RWJF Center for Health Policy accepts a new cohort of Health Policy Scholars to begin every fall semester. Meharry students have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of health policy as it relates to health care planning, health care resource allocation, health maintenance, health promotion, health programs and interventions, and strategies specific to minority and underserved communities. Students learn from leading health policy experts who bring a wealth of experiences to the classroom. ELIGIBILITY ■ PROGRAM BENEFITS Currently be enrolled at Meharry Medical College in the School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, or School of Graduate Studies and Research ■ Possess a genuine educational and research interest in health policy ■ Maintain a GPA of 3.00 or higher in the applicant's primary academic program ■ Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours to receive a Certificate in Health Policy ■ APPLY ONLINE ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ Complete the online registration form, statement of interest, eligibility form (from SOM, SOD, or SOGSR), and one letter of reference. ■Visit www.meharryhealthpolicy.org to access the application.
